After cleaning it a couple of times, i figured out how to snap it right back in and ready for action fitting snug in the place where the little box needs to go. You have to do a little cutting on the LitterMaid to get it to work perfect. Such is the price for not having to buy thirty billion and five stupid litter-maid boxes for a dollar twenty whatever each. This chute is not a whole solution by itself, but it fills a crucial role in getting the "kitty gifts" redirected to the container of your choosing. Totally DIY.
Some things to know... Your automatic litter box stays cleaner for longer because there's not one of those tiny clogged up boxes at the end. If you do it right, you can rig up a system that you can leave for days, if not a week or so. A bucket or hamper bag will hold a bunch. If you drill a correct size hole into a cabinet that you can pick up at IKea or Goodwill, plop your littermaid on top, with the this chute connecting the inside of the cabinet with the litter-maid box area, and VOILA! A self cleaning litter disposal system for $10 (and whatever you paid for your littermaid, a bucket, and a cheap cabinet...yard sales anyone?.
Don't forget you have to make two little cuts to the littermaid to make it work, but the motor will thank you for it by lasting longer.
You can hose off the chute with a garden hose and good nozzle.
