(More customer reviews)this item is very cheaply constructed, considering the price - I thought the black tray that the astroturf sits in would be heavy gauge rubber, but instead it is light, easily damaged, thin plastic. When my dog is steps on it, it is so light that it skittles across the floor and scares him, not making it particularly conducive to wanting to potty on it.
There is also no evidence that the "scent" impregnated in it has any allure for the dog - not mine anyway.
Of course it is convenient that it is not a returnable item due to "sanitary" reasons according to the company.
