(More customer reviews)I considered the automatic litter box from Litterworks but went with the manual since my 3 cats are big and love to dig in the box and scratch the hood. The size and depth of the manual box is comparable to a normal litter box and it has an optional plastic hood which I also purchased. The cats took to it right away and use little kitty stairs to get up and down.
Honestly, I was never very good at cleaning the box every day. With this it's easy enough to do it twice a day since everything I need is right there with the box. The continuous bag is very nice, locking away odor effectively and I go about 2 weeks before having to throw out the bag. I strongly recommend getting the hood, the fan is near silent and it comes off easily for scooping.
The only cons are that when you want to do a full cleaning, it's not as simple dumping everything out of the box and sticking it in the utility sink. I have a solid scoop I use to remove the remaining litter and then wipe it down with bleach and water. However since it's all plastic, at least it's easier to clean than the other wooden boxes from Litterworks. Also the holder for the continuous bag is a VERY tight fit. I had to use some muscle to get it out.
