(More customer reviews)I bought this after I moved to a place with hard flooring, hoping to keep the litter tracking contained to at least the room the litter box was in. Let me preface the remaining part of my review with the fact that my cat is not exactly clever (not dumb, just not very smart)...
He doesn't mind walking on the mat to go INTO the litter box, but for whatever reason, he likes to jump out of it, jumping over the mat and scattering litter all over the floor... I can forgive litter getting on the floor a little- in fact I expected a little to escape the clutches of the mat on a regular basis. But what I didn't expect is for the litter to track so far as to land in my bed (by both my bare feet and my cat). Also to beware: if your cat is like mine and even a little bit of litter gets caught between the lines, he'll decide that since it's litter, he'll pee on it! The mat isn't solid material, just a flat rubbery grid (the best neutral description I can muster), so the cat piss goes straight through and gets caught underneath the mat, soaking it and the litter, making it a pain to clean up. The wet little is a PAIN to get out of the cracks, as I'm sure you would imagine. I would honestly rather have NO mat there than this one, as it's much easier to just clean my floor than this mat.
Also- I have no idea why the "ears" on the mat fold. They serve absolutely NO purpose!!
My advice: Save your time and and money.
