(More customer reviews)I gave it only 4 stars, as I found it rather awkward to install, but so far it seems like a very good solution. Those plastic lids always fall off and I think this will do the trick.
Oh, I installed it with the screws going down toward the receptacle versus sticking up where the cats might hurt their paws. Maybe that was why it was so much more difficult to install? I also found that aligning the flat end on the disks was next to impossible to do...Maybe if I had installed it with the screws protruding out the exterior it would have been easier, but as I said, why should my cats have to walk on protruding screws?
It certainly contains the odor a lot better than no lid, but when your cat makes a really stinky ca ca, its best to spray a spritz of something like PureAyre Pet Odor Eliminator, which eats right into the odor.
Forget about the little air purifier packets that come free with the Littermaid and then can be purchased separately... They fall right off into the litter receptacle and seem to be useless.
